3418 handrail tapes construction consists of PVC with an embossed, asymmetrical pattern on the surface. A base-layer of PET (polyethene terephthalate) is added underneath for better insulation during the colder months. It is finished with an adhesive coating on the underside to provide a strong bond after application to ensure great durability.
Handrail Grip Tape Application Variation
For application, ensure the surface you are applying to is clean, dry and free from any grit or residue. There are various ways in which you can apply handrail grip tape. Here are a few suggestions below.
Horizontal application
This will use a strip of handrail grip tape, applied lengthways along a railing and then wrapped around to join neatly around the railing. This application method is particularly suitable for long railings that have little to no support bars joining them through the middle.
Tight Spiral Application
This application requires no pre-cutting a length of material, and although a little more complex, it ensures great coverage. It also allows for more complex railings to be covered without having to stop and cut pieces. When done correctly it can be an effective time saver.
Spaced Spiral Application
Spaced spiral application is a more cost-effective application, as you can still achieve an efficient, grip-enhanced surface while making the material go further. This is only recommended for internal areas, as some of the bare railings will still be visible.

Prior to the application of any product, buyers must contact us to initiate a return within 14 days of receiving an item. On any returned item, Safe Way Traction will refund the cost of the item minus shipping and handling charges. Up to a 20 % restocking may apply.
TUFF Coat products ship directly from the manufacturer and are not returnable.
Custom quoted orders and Made to Order products are non-returnable.
Deck strips are non-returnable.
No merchandise is to be returned without first contacting Safe Way Traction. Any authorized return merchandise must be carefully packed and in the same condition received. All returned merchandise must be shipped insured and freight prepaid. Some items may not be subject to return including, but not limited to, custom orders, discontinued items and large quantity orders. NO PARTIAL RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED.
